Ode to Sacred Heart

Alexander Louis Cameron

Sacred Heart has been with me through out my short life,
I can't believe it’s over and I am getting all this hype.

What would it be like if I didn't have the school,
That I have been surrounded by, since I could barely Drool?

I remember my days all like this,
It started out with my bro and sis.
Doctor Mathew's pig had always intrigued me,
That's why during graduation I asked her, “What ever happened to J.D.?”

Finally after all my anticipation,
I got to put my Sacred Heart career into full acceleration.

Kindergarten started things off with me learning how to read,
One of the many skills that has led me to succeed.

First grade was great, I learned from Dusso the Dolphin,
He taught me things that I needed for years of problem solvin’.

In second grade with Mrs. Brooks
I started caring about my looks.
For all the girls were looking pretty
And my ego was still itty bitty.

Third grade I was still a little boy,
When I learned to share the virtue of joy.
I loved to show everyone my new toys
So they could experience fun and enjoy!

In fourth grade I learned to be an Alter Server,
It made me a true believer
Of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
I was so proud to help with the host.

Fifth grade was a bend,
In my life where I saw a trend,
Of who was truly a real friend.
One stayed with me through thick and thin
Whenever we're together I feel like we win.

Sixth grade I do recall,
That I had my first dream of really playing basketball.
In Bellevue Select and CYO
I saw my skills start to grow
I had fun with friends on and off the court
And knew I would always love this sport.

Seventh grade was all about being a scholar,
And helping others when they gave a holler.

Eighth grade has been a very fun year,
But I did shed a little tear,
When l realized that l would disappear
And wouldn't be here
For the rest of my life career.

Sacred Heart really showed me how to be a man,
I will try to do this the best I can,
I don't know where I will go or how I will turn out,
But I have no doubt
That I won't forget about,
The place I started to sprout and grow.
So thank you Sacred Heart,
You have given me everything I know.
